  • Incomplete setlist
  • dev: "...Ditto only Regina Agrodome. Hard to believe it was 15 years ago, wow."
  • Joe Adams: "I'd like to see Green Day again. Great show at the Agridome back in 1995. We were on the floor right in front of the stage."
  • "Decided the day before the show to check out Green Day who were still riding a big wave of success from their major label debut Dookie. They had just released the follow up Insomniac and the first single Geek Stink Breath was a staple on Much Music. I had seats way up in the second level near the roof but was right above the stage, not too bad for so close to show day. Didn't know much about the opening act The Riverdales and I still don't; they came out, played their entire album song by song with no banter then left. The best part of their set was watching Mike Dirnt and Trey Cool riding skateboards behind the stage. Green Day came out firing, gleefully admitting to the crowd that the only reason they came to Regina was David Letterman sensation, Dick Assman. The band gave it their all even when the kids on the floor chucked their shoes at them. Dirnt even barked at the rowdy pricks, 'Hey, your mom paid good money for those shoes!' but that didn't stop them. Apparently, it wasn't anything new to them as they played on, dodging shoes the whole time. During When I Come Around, Billie Joe came out naked with just his beloved blue Fender covering his business. During the guitar solo he spun around and treated the crowd to a little rhythmic butt clenching. I could have lived without that, but overall a good show."
  • Shawn Scallen: "I shot this photo on the roof of the hockey arena in Regina, Saskatchewan on the Insomniac tour. This image is from a colour slide I shot for Warp Magazine. I didn't realize that Mike Dirnt was wearing a competing skate mag's hooded sweat top 'til halfway through the shoot and I got him to cover part of the logo in gaffing tape. He spelled out "hash". After the shoot they took off and hid the ladder leaving me and my helpers stuck on the roof for a few minutes until some maintenance staff returned the ladder. Haha. Funny guys. In the end Green Day didn't make the cover of Warp, just the table of contents page and a half dozen shots inside the mag. This is one of the 90-odd shots which weren't used. I recently scanned this slide and converted it to B&W for publication in the next issue of Stop Breathing magazine. At first I was a little 'holier-than-thou', wanting to turn this shoot down because Green Day had turned punk rock into Top 40. I decided to do it after thinking about things and realizing that it was better that 12 year olds were going to see Green Day than New Kids On The Block, and that hopefully a percentage of the 5000 kids they play to each night will go looking for music by The Clash or Fugazi or Black Flag or The Nation of Ulysses or Screeching Weasel (the Riverdales were opening the tour) after getting their first taste of punk. Also, I would get to stop in winnipeg on the way back and see my mom, grandfather and my pal Jon Schledewitz (and Green Day again)."
