  • greatestape: "I was at this show and it was the first time I'd seen Green Day live. I was pretty stoked when I found out it was filmed for TV."
  • Drop D: "Everyone was meanwhile rushing towards the main stage, and I'm pretty sure they were just positioning themselves for Green Day, those no-good, cussing, spitting, trouser-dropping hooligans - thank God someone still remembers how to entertain an audience! They pulled heaps of stunts during their 50-minute set: Billie Joe pulled some guy from the audience to play guitar with them, poked fun at Marilyn Manson, Green Day's Mike played a little Black Sabbath, covered Op Ivy and danced around in a leopard print G-string. Oh yeah, and they also set their stuff on fire (not to be out-done by the Foo Fighters) and tossed marshmallows into the audience."
  • Ben Joss: "My friends and I arrived at Thunderbird Stadium at eleven o'clock in the morning. The doors opened early but we had a hour to wait to get in. People were still getting in at four in the afternoon. The first band was Copyright. They were good. We went directly to the main stage. Bif Naked was playing first. She did a pretty good show. It was a cloudy day so we didn't need to drink a lot. That was a good thing because everything was so expensive. You have to buy tokens and then trade them in for food. There were also a lot of stands selling things and there were about seven games. Green Day did a very interesting show. They got some guy out of the audience to play guitar. Steam was coming off the mosh pit. Billie the lead singer for Green Day but naked only leaving on a shirt. He did a lot of the concert with his pants down. At the end they all destroyed there instruments and burnt the drum set."
  • Ally: "I tell ya, these guys know how to put on a performance! A combination of their energy, kick-ass music, and Billie Joe's amazing stage presence equals one helluva show! Billie did a bit of a strip show and dance during King For A day. Off with the shoes, off with the belt, off with the pants, revealing a leopard print G-string. He pranced around in that for awhile shakin' it ALL around about 10 feet from me. He went and got his guitar and played Welcome to Paradise. Also when they did Operation Ivy's cover of Knowledge they got this guy named Crum to come up and play guitar. Then he had to do a stage dive. At the end of the show they torched the drum kit, and made a lot of noise. Billie put his pants back on and returned to play Good Riddance all by himself with a smoldering drum kit behind him. He left, and Tre returned to throw marshmallows, a hat, a Nimrod finger, water, and Nimrod stickers at us. Then it was over...I've been what some would say (and have said) a 'hardcore' GD fan for about 5 years, so finally seeing them live? Let's just say my life has reached its peak (for now). Even though I took a severe beating in the mosh pit and lost my hat it was still one of the most fun (and painful) things I've ever done. Green Day's probably the only band I'd risk my life for in the pit, though. If you ever get the chance to see them, GO, damnit! Or drop me a line and I'll go for you. Green Day rules!"
