- 8sPOT: "My first real concert. Was a big Green Day fan and Nimrod had just been released. Them and Foo Fighters just rocked the place. Also saw Matt Good Band, Sloan, The Tea Party and Hole (Courtney Love lifted her shirt up, sweet deal for a 14 year old). This was also my first experience in a pit-type setting, loved it."
- Meridian007: "I saw Green Day in 1998 at Edgefest in Ottawa. Halfway through their set, Billie Joe called out for a 'fuckin' good guitarist' from the crowd. After much debate amongst the people at the front, a teenage kid (probably about 16 or so) was pushed up on stage, Billie Joe gave him his guitar, and the kid played for 3 or 4 songs! This concert changed my mind about Green Day, I thought they were a bunch of posers before this, but they proved that they can rock, and are nice guys as well!"
