This year on April 1st, Green Day performed Bobby Sox and Basket Case – with some of the original lyrics – at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, where they won the Landmark Award.

There has been just one Green Day show on April 2nd, at the Fillmore in San Francisco this year. If you only look at one thing from this show, I totally recommend the beautiful performance of Whatsername.

And some of my clearest memories of the Philly show:

• A guy dressed as Santa got up for Know Your Enemy.


• Billie Joe forgot the words to Holiday and in the bridge, he put us in a "trance" to repeat "Billie Joe did not forget the lyrics to Holiday tonight."


• Oh Love and Stay the Night were so good.


• Billie Joe was waving around a giant inflatable banana in King for a Day and I caught his feather boa.


• I was concussed from the previous show in Pittsburgh and I hardly even noticed, so it must have been a good night.

At the matinee performance that day, Billie Joe and Van Hughes (Johnny) surprised the crowd with a stripped down performance of Two of Us by The Beatles.
