On December 6, The Coverups will be playing the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa, CA. Tré Cool has called it a "family night" - since it will also include Revolution Radio Tour opener The Interrupters, Tré's side project Dead Mermaids, his wife's band One Less Zero and Dead Sound, featuring Pinhead Gunpowder member Bill Schneider. Tickets sold out in seconds.
This venue has some Green Day history. The first show of the ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! era was here, where fans heard new songs for the first time. Some, like Gabriella, were never released. Of that show, Billie said: “We went and played 20 songs that no one had ever heard - in a row. And with no plan of a record even coming out. That was terrifying. It reminded me of the times we played in front of crowds that had never heard of us before - nothing was familiar. There was nothing being marketed. It was really exciting and it made me want to throw up with fear at the same time. We were treating ourselves like a new band.”
Sounds like this will be an exciting night! Who's going? Head to Green Day Community to discuss the show with other fans!
