Dog Party opening for Green Day on short U.S. tour

Sacramento garage-pop duo Dog Party has been selected as the opening band for Green Day's recently announced U.S. tour dates in September and October.
The band, formed in 2007, features sisters Gwendolyn Giles on guitar and Lucy Giles on drums, while sharing lead vocals. Their list of influences, according to the band's Facebook page, includes the Ramones, the Descendents, X, Kepi Ghoulie, Ty Segall, Agent Ribbons, Gogol Bordello, Jessica Lea Mayfield and the Groovie Ghoulies.
