NiFi Fest Update: Festival has been cancelled

As we posted previously, Green Day were set to play their first show in months on Day 1 of the festival. In a post on their Facebook page, the group cited low ticket sales as the primary reason for the cancellation:

We are writing to share that Ni-Fi Festivals, LLC has made the decision to cancel NiFi Music Fest, scheduled to be held August 28-30, 2015 at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky. We simply cannot deliver the NiFi vision and fan experience, at our desired level of excellence, given the lack of ticket sales to date.
