[pic=New design]052013_newsite.jpg[/pic]We're excited to finally debut an updated design for GDA. Our aim for this update was to make a cleaner design, something easier to browse, and to change the way we handle comments.

We're in the middle of updating the entire site right now, so there will be some errors and some ugly pages around the site till we can get to them all. Right now the only section that is working is the current news. We will be working on making the archives and older posts available within the next 48 hours.

First off, you'll notice that we've gotten rid the "double nav bar" we used to have up top and instead went with a drop down for each section. We think this design will be a lot easier to navigate around each section.

Next you'll notice a featured story on the top right of the site. This will be regularly updated to show either important news or GDA stuff going on.

The last major change is that we are no longer using Disqus to offer comments for news stories. Instead we've built a system that ties directly into our forum, Green Day Community. We'll be linking related stories together and showing the first 20 posts for each story/topic on GDA. You'll find a link to the forum topic below each news post where you can go and leave your input. This system better allows us to tie our sites together as well as decrease page-load times since we no longer have to load in all the Disqus code to display comments.
