"Longview" listed as one of Ultimate Guitars top 10 greatest punk songs

[pic=Longview single artwork]050613_longview.jpg[/pic]Ultimate Guitar has included Green Day's "Longview" in their list of the "Top 10 Greatest Punk Songs." "Longview," the band's first single came in at number six on the list.
In 1994 the song won Green Day some of their [turl=http://www.greendayauthority.com/band/awards.php]first awards[/turl] including three MTV Music Video Awards and was ranked by Rolling Stone as the third best single of the year.

Green Day's first major label single started life as a bass riff written by Mike Dirnt when he was on acid. 'I was frying on acid so hard,' he said. 'Later, it took me a long time to be able to play it, but it made sense when I was on drugs.'
