For this weeks installment of [turl=http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/tags/throwback-thursday/]#ThrowbackThursday[/turl] we're going to be taking you back to 2006 when Green Day teamed up with U2 to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Besides just recording a cover of The Skids' "The Saints Are Coming," the two bands also performed together for the reopening of the Louisiana Superdome that was badly damaged by the hurricane. In the epic performance the two bands played "Wake Me Up When September Ends," "The Saints Are Coming," and U2's "Beautiful Day."
This performance has always held a special place in my heart since this was the first time I ever got to watch Green Day perform live on TV. When was the first time you saw Green Day on TV? Let us know in the comments!
