[pic=Green Day in Nylon Guys]101812_rsz_tumblr_mbbrftrkmb1r1r6r0o1_500.jpg[/pic]Billie Joe is on the cover of the October/November issue of Nylon Guys magazine. The feature includes a really well-done 4 page interview, and some new photos. I'll talk a little bit about the article below, but if you'd like to jump right in, you can find full scans of the interview and photos here.

This interview is really, really interesting. The whole thing is pretty much centered around Billie Joe, and how his life right now is reflected in ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!. Although the interview was done in early August, just before the band left to play shows overseas, the information sheds some light on what contributed to Billie Joe taking some time off. Here's an interesting quote:

[quoteFull]He's many things, but the jittery author of "Basket Case" isn't a prodigy in not freaking out. The drive that produces two concept albums in a row, then tours the world, then helps a Broadway director adapt them into American Idiot: The Musical (and a feature film slated for a 2013 release) isn't found in terribly stable people. It's found in the kind of overwound dude who returns from a morning of surfing near his Newport Beach home (a ritual he began five years ago). sees an opening in his afternoon, and says, 'You know what? I think I'll write 60 new songs, record all their parts and harmonies myself, then mercilessly drill my band until the best 37 are weapons-grade, then craft three separate albums, title them ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!, which we'll release two months apart, through January of 2013.'[/quoteFull]

Also, check out some behind-the-scenes footage with Green Day as they were photographed and questioned for the magazine:
