We've decided to go ahead and make our 'WTF Article' it's own feature. Some of you will remember it showing up in our weekly round-up posts we started recently, but we decided that maybe these wtf articles should be out on their own. So here's the biggest wtf to start us off.

We avoided posting this story for a while. I don't really know why. I guess it's mainly because anyone who disses Green Day already kind of annoys me, so giving it any extra publicity on GDA just feels ... ugh. At the same time, I guess it's silly to pretend it doesn't exist when the article continues being sent in to us on a daily basis since it is on one of the top 1000 sites on the entire internet, Cracked.com

[caption=Here's what I think Billie Joe thinks about this]060712_billiejoe_flipping.jpg[/caption]The article is titled "7 Famous Musicians Who Stole Some of Their Biggest Hits," which included Green Day at #7. The part on Green Day shows similarities between a few Green Day songs such as Warning (vs. The Kinks), 21 Guns (vs. ELO), and American Idiot (vs. Dillinger Four). They have samples of all the songs on their site if you want to check it out.

Here's what I'll say in defense of Green Day. This band has written over 200 original songs, it's a stretch to say they steal music. Any band out there can be inspired by another band, and eventually, they might write something that sounds similar.

You can read the full list, which incldues bands like Oasis, The Beatles and more over on Cracked.com
