Green Day places twice on NME's list "100 Best Songs of the 1990s"

"Good Riddance," which was released as a single from Nimrod in July of 1996, placed 59 on the list. The single shot to the top of the charts and persisted as a sentimental song used at graduations, weddings, and even on the series finale of Seinfeld during the '90s and into today.
"Basket Case," which was released as a single from Dookie, placed at number 20 on the list. This song cemented Green Day into the music scene along with the popularity of "Longview."
