[img=010712_lighting.jpg]During Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown tour, the band pulled out an impressive new stage setup, the screen projections, pyrotechnics, the city-scape screens behind the band, lighting, and new and original artwork relevant to each song. This made Green Day's live performances, already one of the best in the world (yeah, i'm biased), feel even more immersive. It kind of felt like you were watching a live music video unfold in front of you, and taking you along for the ride, making you a part of the song.
In November 2009, Light and Sound America magazine took a look at Green Day's setup and how they worked to design and build the setup. It's a very interesting read, especially if you like learning about all the technical stuff.
You can read all 7 pages of this article in our magazine section. The text is a little small but still readable. Thanks to Paul for sending these scans in to GDA.
If you saw the band on tour (or videos) leave a comment with your thoughts on the production of the last tour.
