2011 was an incredible year for GDA and Green Day fans around the world. We've got in place a wonderful team here and on the forum, each working to make GDA better each week. We've introduced new regular features (Scattered Memories, Song of the Week, editorials) and we have plans for a lot of really cool stuff this year, some of which you'll hear about in the next week or two.

I'd like to extend a thanks to Green Day, their management, Adeline Records, and Warner Brothers for helping us out in 2011. We were able to hold contests and attend events that we might not have without their help.

Of course, our biggest thanks to each of you who supported our site. Whether it was sending in a donation, buying merch, or just coming back each day to check out the news - all of these things help us and allow us to continue doing what we love by being a part of this community. Thank you.

Now on to 2012. While the band haven't announced anything, many speculate this will be the year we get a new album, and fingers crossed, a world tour to go alongside it. This year is going to be a fantastic year for Green Day fans. We already have the American Idiot musical touring North America through summer, then the UK and Ireland this fall. We plan on doing a lot more to engage this community in 2012 and we look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. My biggest goal in 2012 is to increase the quality of everything we do here. From our news posts to the less-frequented pages around the site, just making sure we raise the bar on everything we do for Green Day fans, be consistant in our projects and quality in which we do them. Basically, just dedicate more time to the right things to make our community stronger, more useful, and more interesting for all of you.
