A few months back, we posted that Green Day was releasing an official book "about the band, by the band." From the description on Amazon, it sounds like the book, tentatively titled Green Day, will be a photographic catalog of the band through the American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown eras:

This dynamic first book from the popular punk rock band Green Day will include hundreds of photographs of the band on tour and backstage, as well as ephemera including backstage passes, ticket stubs, handwritten notes and lyrics, and more... This fan must-have will also feature a foreword by Billie Joe Armstrong.
It was originally set to be released in October of this year, but according to Amazon, the date has been pushed back to September 20th, 2012. This date isn't official yet, so as we get nearer to the release date it is subject to change. However, you can place your pre-orders now and view the full product description here.
