The guitar was released last fall, but Gibson hadn't put up a page with details of the J-180. The description of the guitar opens up with some flattering words for BJA, as well as his union with the guitar brand:
The guitar is at a pricey $4,000, but with it's limited edition run (only 100 being made in 2011) and being such a gorgeous guitar, Gibson's collaboration with Billie Joe might find it's way into many houses of many Green Day fans. He can crank out the grind with the best of them, and his electric chops have helped to establish his band Green Day as the premier punk band of its generation. But Billie Joe Armstrong has proved his prowess at a more nuanced acoustic tune time and again. The acoustic guitar propelled Green Day's international mega-hit "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," and was a cornerstone of the band's epic 2004 release American Idiot. Through it all, Armstrong's instrument of choice has been a Gibson.
