Rolling Stone and MTV confirmed that Green Day will be performing at the 2009 VMA's on September 13th. On RollingStone.com, Billie Joe is quoted saying "We are excited to be performing at the Video Music Awards, you never know what’s going to happen, and it’s always a memorable experience for us".
