American Idiot was released to the world 4 years ago today. Since then the album has gone on to sell over 15 million copies worldwide and marked a huge turning point in Green Day's career. Because of this album a whole new generation was exposed to Green Day's music (and GDA :D).

This also marks the longest break between Green Day albums since the band started releasing them 17 years ago. The wait between Warning and American Idiot was 3 years 11 months, and now 4 years later we're waiting around excitedly to hear what's next.
