[newsImage]121209_rockband.jpg[/newsImage]Exciting news announced tonight at Spike TV's Video Game Awards, Green Day and Harmonix are teaming up to release a full Green Day : Rock Band. Similar to the Beatles Rock Band, the game will be dedicated to a selection of Green Day songs. The band showed up via video (they're still touring in Australia) to announce the game and mentioned it will have their "songs, favorite venues, and imagery". The game will be released sometime in 2010. No track list available yet.

We'll post videos of that when we get them. For now, here's the trailer.

If you can't wait that long, don't worry - you'll still have the 6 songs announced as downloadable content for the current RockBand. The next 3 songs are available to download December 15th (Dec. 17th for PS3's).

What do you guys think? I'm pretty damn excited for this. Hopefully we'll get the track list soon, and hopefully we'll get stuff from the early years up to 21CB included in there. [turl=http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/140/]Leave a comment[/turl] with your thoughts.
