Lyrics
Maybe I'll see you tonight
Maybe I'll see you tonight
Wherever the night takes
Maybe you'll see me too
The colder it gets
You wont see me anymore
But there's still a chance
I might walk to your door
Maybe the timing's not right
I won't be seeing you tonight
Maybe I'll see you tonight
Maybe I'll see you tonight
Maybe I'll see you tonight
Wherever the night takes
Maybe you'll see me too
The colder it gets
You wont see me anymore
But there's still a chance
I might walk to your door
Maybe the timing's not right
I won't be seeing you tonight
Maybe I'll see you tonight
Maybe I'll see you tonight
Song Meaning
The opening track on ¡Dos! sets up the rest of the party-themed album perfectly. The narrator seems to be addressing someone that he misses, and wonders (half to himself, and half to the other person) if maybe they'll meet again tonight. The lyrics have a text-message kind of vibe to them, and could've been sent right as the narrator walked out the door and headed for the party. The narrator even hints that the relationship might just be summer love ("The colder it gets / I won't see you anymore"), even though "there's still a chance I might walk to your door." But, with the party of a lifetime looming, he knows that he wants to see this girl.
