Here's our "weekly" recap of the biggest Green Day news this week.
To start off, the band will be performing tonight at the American Music Awards. I believe they'll be playing "Bang Bang". Here's a little blurb about them rocking the rehearsal yesterday. Next week the band will play two late night shows, starting with Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow night, and The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday. They'll be the musical guests each night.
We started a new Green Day Riddle contest so you guys can wrack your brains over Green Day trivia for a chance to win some sweet-ass merch.
"Still Breathing" is gaining on the Billboard charts as the latest single from the band. There still hasn't been really heavy promotion of the song, beyond the new music video, so it's great to see it making some #gains still. The music video has 2.4 million plays since it's debut Nov. 7th.
Check out this interview with Tre Cool at Virgin Radio. He talks about Revolution Radio and the coinidence that other bands like Blink 182 and Sum 41 also released albums this year. A full summary of the interview questions can be read here.
And finally to round out the week, the official Green Day store launched some new merchandise just in time for the holiday season. Check out the new shirts and boombox bundles.
