Billie Joe Armstrong is staying busy during Green Day’s downtime. He recently teamed up with Jesse Malin for a new song titled "Strangers & Thieves." Malin revealed on Instagram that the track was written after the two walked around New York City one Sunday afternoon.

The song will be officially released June 14th via Wicked Cool Records both digitally and as a limited edition colored vinyl. You can pre-order a copy here. The track will also appear on Malin’s new album, Sunset Kids, out August 30th. The album is available for pre-order here.

This isn't the first time Malin and Armstrong have worked together. In the past, Malin has opened for Green Day and the two teamed up for their underground Rodeo Queen’s side-project in 2010.

We can’t wait to hear the new song! And if you're excited about it, make sure to join the conversation on the Green Day Community forum.
