There’s been speculation for months about Green Day’s next album and it looks like we’ll finally get new music. Earlier today (July 9) Kerrang Radio’s breakfast host Sophie K announced that new Green Day music will be coming July 19th at 5 PM. Listen to the announcement here.

UPDATE: It seems Kerrang may have jumped the gun on the news. Sohpie K admited on Twitter she read a tweet from a UK super fan Sharon, who "always gives me the hook up...Fingers crossed it's true!"

Kerrang later released an article saying they reached out to the band's representatives who told them there’s “definitely no Green Day single any time soon."

So for now, looks like we shouldn't expect new music soon. Fans are still speculating and talking about the announcement on the Green Day Community forum. Join the conversation if you want to speculate what’s next for Green Day.
