Billboard and Mediabase have updated their charts for this past week and Green Day's "Bang Bang" has returned to the top spot on both outlet's Mainstream and Active Rock charts.
Last week, the track slipped to #2 after spending four straight weeks at #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs and three weeks on Mediabase's Active Rock charts. This week, the track has overtaken former #1 "Hardwired" from Metallica for the top spot.
This gives "Bang Bang" a fifth week at #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart and a fourth week at #1 on Mediabase's Active Rock chart.

Hot Rock Songs: #14 (same as last week) | Chart
Mediabase Alternative:: #3 (same as last week) | Chart
Last week, "Still Breathing" charted at #20 on Billboard's Twitter Top Tracks chart. The song has dropped from that chart but has entered another one.
"Still Breathing" has entered the Hot Rock Songs chart at #12, two spots ahead of "Bang Bang."
This past weekend, several of us here at GDA noticed that the song was played quite frequently as a bumper during ESPN and ABC's coverage of college football, soccer, and NFL games. Could this be an indication it will be a future single? I guess we have to wait to find out.
