- Paul: "I saw Shutdown play with Green Day at the Wheatsheaf in Stoke-on-Trent. I remember thinking that Shutdown would be going on to great things one day. I didn't rate Green Day that much... Funny how Green Day are now millionaires and Shutdown never got the recognition that they deserved. I'm interested in hearing their new project The Great Leap Forward though."
- Snowdog: "One of the most unlikely must be Green Day at the Wheatsheaf in December 1991. Of all the gigs I saw at the 'Sheaf it was the only time the bands played in the smaller upstairs room. I didn't know GD and only went along because I was friends with great Stoke hardcore outfit Exit Condition who were the support. It turned into a storming night with at one point Billie Joe playing while lying on his back in the middle of the floor."
