- Hartford Courant: "The California punk band Green Day plays the Webster Theater in Hartford Monday night. The band began touring at the end of October, fresh from the release of Nimrod, their latest CD. Nimrod made its debute at No. 10 - not surprising, considering the success of the 2 million-selling Insomniac and their 9 million-selling breakthrough, Dookie. Superdrag, a hit on alternative radio stations last year with its Sucked Out single, opens the all-ages show. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17.50. The Webster Theater is at 31 Webster St., Hartford. Information: (860) 525-5553."
- "Last night I met Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool. The show went down in a converted old movie theater, Webster Theater in Hartford, CT. I first spotted Mike coming out of the massive tour bus. 'Hey, Mike! How's your elbow?' I said. 'It feels much better now, thanks,' he replied. I got his autograph. Then Tre leaped out from the bus. 'Hey, Tre! Nice to see you, buddy,' I said and gave him a big pat on the back. He was in a hurry to get inside, so he did not stop to sign autographs. Anyways, the show was sold out. Big surprise. I had brought along a disposable camera to catch the original noize boyz in action. It was taken. Fuck! I took my place not where I had wished, but still closer to the action. Fuck yeah! Going To Pasalacqua! Then they did Welcome To Paradise, and then I forgot what was next. Anyways, they rocked. I hung around with my friends Nick and Vinnie after the show, looking for free Green Day shit on the floor. I got my brother and me shirts, then got my camera back! I went outside. That fresh air felt great! I took photos of their bus, and everything else worth saving for memories. Then, I noticed a crowd appear from nowhere. It was Tre! Tre was just hanging out getting fresh air (not that big with autographs, I guess), and my heart stopped. Tre shared his beer with me, and I just stood there taking pictures of him, trying not to faint. When he left, I walked around a bit. When I got back, Mike was the center of attention! I talked one on one with him, and inquired about everything from 'what happened to John' (the answer was, 'We killed him. Just kidding. We are still really good friends.'), to asking him on his views on ska, and King Of The Hill, and at one point he showed me a picture of him and his baby girl, Estelle. (She was so cute!) Then he left, and I gave my number to a couple of roadies. I got a pick and an autograph from Mike, a swig-o-beer from Tre, a touch on Billie's foot, hands shaken, pats on the back, two tees for me and my brother, and a shitload of memories."
