- John: "I went with my friend's band Marvin's Tendency. When all went straight for the stage. It was pretty difficult because there were about 200 people crammed up front. At about 9:10 Green Day came out - it was so exciting! Tre wore a black Nimrod shirt and shorts, Billie Joe wore the usual black T-shirt and Dickies, Dirnt wore plaid pants and a red wife-beater. They opened with Going To Pasalacqua, then they went into Welcome To Paradise. Dirnt stopped to spray us with beer. Then they played an Operation Ivy cover, Knowledge. During this song Billie Joe let some kid play the guitar. 'The kid basically sucked and didn't know what the hell he was playing,' said my friend Justin, the guitarist of Marvin's Tendency. I took pictures of the band with a piece of crap camera. Later on they played Chump/Longview. They covered The Beautiful People and taunted the crowd with a Tickle Me Elmo doll. During Paper Lanterns Justin and I crowdsurfed to the front of the stage and the security guards threw me onto a metal railing. Also at the end after trashing everthing on the stage Billie Joe played Good Riddance. It was a great night. Also the bassist of Marvin's Tendency caught Mike's pick when he threw it into the crowd."
