FOXBORO HOT TUBS: Stop Drop & Roll
Release Date: May 20th 2008
Details
Green Day has recorded a spontaneous album named Stop Drop & Roll under the band name Foxboro Hot Tubs. The side-band first appeared mysteriously in a Idiot Club forum message, the resemblances had everyone guessing who was behind the Hot Tubs until Green Day released a statement to MTV
"We think that the only similarity [between the Hot Tubs and Green Day] is that we are the same band. That is basically the only similarity," the Hot Tubs, er, Green Day, wrote in the e-mail. "We are Jason White, Jason Freese, Michael Pritchard, Frank Edwin Wright the Third and the Reverend Strychnine Twitch. ... We are four guys who love to play music and be spontaneous, [and] after a few late night jams and a few too many bottles of wine, we were inspired to record some rockin' eight-track recordings.
Foxboro was a townhouse near Billie and Mike's childhood home and they use to sneak in there to use the hot tubs.. They have released the album for online purchase in April of 2008 but the official release date for the physical album is May 20th 2008. The band is rumored to be considering the posibility of a video for 'The Pedestrian'. There is also a rumor of a tour for the side-band. Neither have been confirmed.

NEW GREEN DAY ALBUM
Estimated Release Date: 2008
Details:
After touring extensively for 2 years following the release of American
Idiot, the band decided to use 2006 to take a break, and begin the writing
process for new material. In an interview with NME Magazine in December 2006 ( read
the article) Billie Joe mentions that the band has at least three albums
worth of new material they are working with. They are still unsure the direction
the new album will go, as far as style, but they are using this time to write
together and come up with ideas.

AMERICAN IDIOT MOVIE
Release Date: Unknown
Details:
Green Day was contacted and asked if they were interested in turning the
American Idiot Story into a movie. Last year Billie Joe wrote a
treatment for the movie (a general plot of the movie), and has given it to a
screen writer who is in charge of turning it into and actual screen play.
Green Day has said that they will not act in the movie if it gets made.
Billie Joe said "We'll leave the acting to the professionals." But they
did say they would have a part in making sure the story got told the way they
meant it to.
Billie Joe mentioned that this project is
currently on hold to work on their music. So whether or not this movie will ever
actually get made is unknown.
