[pic=Billie Joe at Acoustic-4-A-Cure benefit]051614_bja-a4ac.jpg[/pic]Last night, Billie Joe played at the first annual Acoustic-4-A-Cure benefit concert at the Filmore in San Francisco. The benefit was in support of the pediatric cancer treatment program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.

The event was put on and hosted by rock legend Sammy Hagar (Van Halen, Chickenfoot) and included James Hetfield of Metallica, Billie Joe, Joe Satriani, Pat Monahan of Train, Nancy Wilson of Heart, and many others who are all from around the Bay Area in California.

Throughout the evening, each artist had their own four-song solo set. Hagar went first because he set the order of "age before beauty." Thus, Billie Joe was the one to wrap up the evening's festivities.

According to the master setlist, Billie Joe came on with Jason White and played "Holiday," "Bastards of Young" (a Replacements cover), "99 Revolutions," and "American Idiot."

Right before Billie Joe's set, he, along with Joe Satriani, came out to help James Hetfield finish up his set by performing a mashup of "Turn the Page" (Metallica's famous cover of the Bob Seger classic) and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." From the videos that have leaked from the event, this performance is easily the highlight of the night. James and Billie Joe trade verses, maneuvering back and forth between the two songs which actually flow together quit nicely (lyrically and musically). By the end, the two are sang together. The mashup can be viewed below.

Unfortunately there haven't been many photographs surface from the event yet, only a few cellphone shots posted on social media. Head on over to the Acoustic-4-A-Cure topic on our forum, Green Day Community, to see a few of those.
