Desensitized

this song means that you can kill youself and i wont care. its basically saying that you can do bad things to yourself and i wont care.its like showing no sensitivity to anyone.

What I take away from this song is the dark side of internet/media addiction, and how it desensitizes you. The lines "Clenching my teeth tight / My head is like a sponge / Give it to me free" could easily be related to internet pornography. "So go ahead and kill yourselves / It all amuses me / For I'll be damned to spend the rest of my life in hell" might be talking about suicide videos or faces of death videos, and knowing how fucked up it is to even want to watch them. Same thing for the lines "Bring me blood and pain / Of a stranger's fate". That could also be about being addicted to all the news reports of deaths or tragic stories of random people.

its about being raised on video games and becoming desensitized to the world around us

Posted by aylaKay on July 20 2009
It's about the internet and modern technology and how eventually it's gonna kill us. Instead of speeding up the world, it's going to slow us down. "Another wreck on the information highway."

About how see-through people can be sometimes

Posted by Dana B on June 02 2009
You Lied is about somebody who just keeps lying all the time to get away from their problems, with a story that is "stretched and so far fetched and lacking an excuse"

Outsider
Posted by Nick123 on January 27 2010
This is a fantastic cover. It's about going to a new place and being rejected but mainly because they don't know what it was like where you were from. they've never experienced anything like you have (im an outsider, outside of everything, everything you know..) i know because this describes my life %100

aside from being one of the best ramones songs ever written, this is a perfect conveyance of feeling isolated from everything and everyone, no matter what the circumstance. everyone at some point is an outsider, whether they feel they are or not.

well, i think this is about a kid that just "wants to be on t.v." and do a bunch of shit celebrities do everyday. and how celebrities get what they want and can control the masses with some of the things they do.

i think it's about a guy billie joe and mike knew before they were famous that they didn't like and after they became famous he came back and wanted to be friends only because they were famous.. i don't know for a fact just that's what i think its about.

Posted by Lanta on August 31 2009
Scumbag is about someone returning into a person's life. They may look different, but inside they are just the same. The person whose life they are coming back into can't understand why they have returned, but isn't convinced by them.

Sick of Me
Posted by whatsername on September 06 2009
I think this song is about a couple and one of them is sick of the other but they're not actually leaving their partner cos the line 'you're coming back for more' is repeated a few times. Also, Billie is saying he's completely unloveable, and he admits he's not a great person to be with.

Rotting
Posted by aylaKay on July 20 2009
Rotting is about someone who knows that their end is coming, and has basically given up to it. They can't do anything about it, and they are so far gone that there's no emotion left to show about their dying. They don't to want to try to stop it. "Black rose of death in my fist I clutch. Thorns shred my fingertips and drips toxic blood." He's not willing to let go of the thing that's killing him.

Do Da Da
Posted by Maria on October 25 2009
Hmm, I think the song also, beside the problems in life, is about a relationship, "waste with me into nothing, well now you're stuck with me". relationship on a bad day it sounds like..
1/3
Posted by Justin on October 23 2009
Do Da Da is about a person who expects a lot out of their boyfriend or girlfriend, to the point where they expect that person to handle their entire life. "Rush into my depression, sacrifice everything" basically means "Sacrifice your own time/life to help me with mine" then "waste with me into nothing, now you're stuck with me" Once the boyfriend/girlfriend gets involved with this person, they get attached despite the unfairness of the relationship, and now they can't get out.

Trivia (although most people already know this): It was meant to be called Stuck With Me and was recorded for Insomniac, but it got taken off. Someone labelled the Stuck With Me on Insomniac "Stuck With Me" by mistake, and it never got changed back, so they called the original Stuck With Me Do Da Da instead. Hence why Stuck With Me doesn't actually say stuck with me, but Do Da Da does.
Yeah. It's about someone who is having difficulties and problems in life. When a friend comes in to help with the problems, dropping everything to help the person, they end up being dragged into these problems and not being able to get out of them.

Ha Ha You're Dead
Posted by Jos!e on November 09 2009
To me this song is about a bully who died and the victim is finally happy " Ha Ha your dead and I'm so happy , You were an A**hole and now your gone and when your ship is going down I'll stand out and watch you drown Ha Ha your Dead Ha Ha your dead" This is pretty harsh so it must have been about a bully who died.
