I have never gotten so many emails in such little time. Thanks to the hundreds of you that emailed me to correct me: Green Day did win two awards last night, one for best album in the pop rock catagory and Best Alternative Artist. These awards were not televised (which is why i wasn't aware of them). So I apologize for my previous post saying they didn't win.

Today are the American Music Awards. Green Day is not performing but they are up for some awards. The show starts at 8PM EST on ABC. Unfortunately I'll be leaving today and won't be able to post their acceptance speeches if they win anything, but when I get back I'm sure I'll find some to share.In a couple weeks there are more award shows coming up that Green Day are performing or nominated in: VH1's Big in 05' airs December 4th (the same day as Green Day's performance on Fuse's show, "Comp'd") and the Billboard Awards on December 6th on Fox.

Hey guys and girls, as I said earlier in the week I've been totally swamped working on the forum. The Green Day Community is up for the most part. A few errors still but I'll get all these worked out soon.
There's a 30 minute interview with Green Day from BBC that you can listen to online.

News is kinda slow and I've been really busy working on our forum, so I haven't been able to update other sections much. Hopefully this weekend I'll have time to update more. We've put "Geek Stink Breath" from SNL 1994 back up on the video downloads. Many more downloads will be put up this month because we were able to get our second dedicated media server. If there is a certain video or TV appearance you'd like to see up in the download section, send us an email to media@greendayauthority.com and we'll try to get up a lot of videos you want.
(note: don't ask for Fuse's show Comp'd. That show has not aired and common sense would rule that we can't post something that hasn't come out yet. We will not post anything from Bullet in a Bible either)

The day is finally upon us. Bullet in a Bible hits stores across the US today. You can buy the DVD here for $18.99.
The 'Jesus of Suburbia' single was released yesterday in the UK. The single also includes a DVD of the music video.
Green Day said in an interview yesterday on MTV2 that they are thinking of making a video for Give Me Novacaine. We'll be sure to keep you guys posted as soon as we get more info. The St.Jimmy video (which I believe is the live performance from Bullet in a Bible) will premiere today on TRL according to their site.
For those of you living in the Hudson Valley NY area, WRRV radio is having a contest to giveaway a guitar autographed by Green Day. Visit their site for more info.

We've rebuilt the Merchandise page with over 40 Green Day items. Some new posters, shirts, and various other things were put up.
Over the past few months we've started building our tabs section again. All the tabs we post will be done by our tabbers, Bradley and Hugo. I bet over the past few days, you and your friends have been awake all night thinking about the riddles. Oh I know this is true since our WINNER told me that she fell asleep in school because she was up all night trying to figure out the answers. Now, let me say this.. I know it was hard but it did give you something to do right? You also helped GDA by clicking on the sponsors (which are the banners all around the web site leading you to some GREAT Green Day Gear). Now on with the answers.
Lone from the chatroom was the first to give me the correct answer. She would like to thank Janix, Leah, Robin, and Crystal's dad for her victory.
#1. A thanksgiving parade should have led you to Macy's Day Parade. IN that song there is a line that say a brand new.. HOPE, which H,O,P,E was the answer.
#2. This one was pretty hard, which made you think. The tattoo section of the site would have led you to a person named India who was wearing blue shoes and had a heart grenade for a tattoo. I,N,D was the answer.
#3. If you went to the song meanings of the site, it would have led you to The Judges Daughter being written about the perfect girl. D,A,U was the answer.
#4. Oooh this was the hard one that got a LOT of people stuck on. A=2 Z=377, if you start A-B adding 3 then B-C adding 4 and just keep increasing the adding number by 1 you will get 377 for Z and the rest of the answers: G=35 P=152 O=135 W=299 and S=209 giving you G,P,O,W,S.
#5. Billie and Jason have Pinhead Gunpowder in common. Take the 10th, 15th, and double the 16th letter gives you N,E,R,R. And wait till you see the final answer!
#6. One of the first original "jackass" type videos was CKY made by Bam Margera and friends, Bam's brother plays drums in the band CKY (Camp Kill Yourself). My hometown is featured in the first one so i figured I'd throw it in. SO the answer is CK.
That gives you H,O,P,E,I,N,D,D,A,U,G,P,O,W,S,N,E,R,R,C,K Which if your Like Loner and unscramble it = "Pinhead Gunpowder Rocks". But don't worry another (and harder) set of riddles will come sometime soon! So congratulations again to Lone for picking up her FREE copy of Bullet in a Bible from GDA!

Its time for week #2 of your chance to win a free copy of the new DVD "Bullet in a Bible". Now same rules as last week, and since some people had the correct answer but did not follow directions, well they didn't win lets put it that way.
The riddles below will give you letters, ALL the letter from each of the riddles equal a word or phrase. Since last weeks winner happened to fast for me I made this weeks harder. Once you have a correct answer email me here with the correct answer as the subject. If you are correct I will reply to your email asking you for your mailing address and you will score a FREE copy of the DVD, I won't even charge you for shipping.
1. Thanksgiving is near and what better time for a parade. Each year I have a brand new... (damn i can't think of the word I want to use) that something cool would happen during a parade. Figure out the word I wanted to use and you can use all of its letters.
2. I'm thinking of getting blue shoes to match my heart grenade. If you tell me who I am you can use the first three letters of my name.
3. I always wanted to write a song about the perfect girl. The thing about that is, none exist. If you think of a song that was written for the perfect girl write down the first three letters of the last word it's called.
4. If A = 2 and Z = 377, what does 35, 152, 135, 299, and 209 equal?
5. Billie and Jason have something in common. If you take the tenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth letter of this you can add them to your list. And since there are two of them, you can use two of the sixteenth letter.
6. What do you think is punk? Do you think a show like Jackass is punk? I don't, I think the most original punk video is also a name of a band. If you figure out the band you can figure out the name of the video and drop the last letter of it's title.
Again, Please follow the rules if you have the correct answer!
Update: Since I made an error in #5 (double the letter) I will give you a hint. M = 104. Sorry about the mistake.

As you guys already know, Green Day picked up 2 EMA awards. Read this article to read more. For the many of you in the US, the EMA's will be aired on November 11th at 9ET on MTV.
Also on the 11th, make sure to to check out Green Day on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Its actually the 12th at 12:35am ET. Following this, Saturday(the 12th) Bullet in a Bible will be aired on MTV2 commercial free.

So much Green Day news to share, the way it should be. Those of you in the UK can watch Green Day perform "Jesus of Suburbia" on Top of the Pop's tomorrow at 7pm on BBC 2. Next Friday at 10:30pm be sure to watch "Friday Night with Jonathan Ross" on BBC 1, Green Day will be performing on his show as well. NME has a competition for tickets to Bullet in a Bible this coming Monday, November 7th, in London's Leicester Square. Even better, Green Day will be there to introduce the film.
Green Day has been confirmed as one of the bands to perform at the Billboard Awards December 6th.
You can now watch the 9 minute "Jesus of Suburbia" music video on Yahoo! Launch.
November 8th Comedy Central will be re-airing a Mad TV episode from a few years back with Green Day performing "Blood Sex & Booze".

Congrats to Green Day for picking up 2 awards at the MTV Europe Awards: Best Album & Best Rock. The guys also performed Holiday at the show.
We understand that those of you outside the US are unable to watch the interviews posted on MTV's Overdrive. We're trying to figure out if we can post the videos up on GDA or not. Again, GDA is trying to get a second server so we can distribute more video/audio downloads, as well as make our forum more reliable. The costs are a bit higher than first anticipated and we would appreciate any donations to help us out.

Hello Green Day fans, I've been gone for a week so I'm still trying to catch up on emails and updating my sections. Billie Joe is on the cover of Rolling Stone, which hit's newstands tomorrow. Read the article, "Working Class Hero". MTV Overdrive has posted a great interview with Green Day. They talk about everything from music videos to politics and even what Green Day is planning for the future. As far as a new album, Billie Joe said first they need some time off, time to "re-energize", then they'll probably head back to studio in January or February of next year and "take as long as possible" to get another album out. So even though there isn't a set date for a new album, I wouldn't expect one till late next year or even 2007. You guys can check out the entire interview here.
For those of you in the UK; Be sure to watch "Top of the Pops" this Sunday, November 6th, at 7PM. Green Day will be there to play "Jesus of Suburbia." Also, today are the MTV Europe Awards which Green Day are mentioned to perform at, as well as being nominated for 3 awards.
The Didja Know? section has been updated with a few corrections and a couple new things.
Don't forget coming up November 12th, MTV2 as well as Canada's MuchMusic will show one hour of "Bullet in a Bible". Check your local listing for times.

Bullet in a Bible played in 68 theatres last night, and I hope all of you enjoyed it. If you didn't go, make sure to pick the DVD when it comes out, or stay tuned for another chance to win it here.

I am sad to report that a winner has been crowned for the Bullet in a Bible DVD contest. Congratulations to Rebekah Pfarr from Winona, MN for providing me the correct answer of "Michael Pritchard". Here are the answers to the first weeks riddles..
1. The woman with the gleaming eye can be found at eMusic (the banner above). The first two letters she says are IT
2. Green Day - Door is a title for the Green Day Door poster at oneposter.com (The banner below). If you click on the poster and look at the Stock ID (take 6 out) Each of those numbers equal a letter. 1=A 9=I 5=E 3=C. (I,T,A,I,E,C so far).
3. The key word here was MOTOR. The first band on the left at ebtm.com was MotorHead. Take the first and last letters M,D and the middle one R (I,T,A,I,E,C,M,D,R so far)
4. This one I thought was pretty simple when I said that I always feel creative. feelcreative.com set the category for Green Day as Celebrities. Take the first and third letter which are C and L. (I,T,A,I,E,C,M,D,R,C,L so far)
5. Well i gave you three letters when i said the first three letters of Happy, which as H,A,P. The riddle was that halloween made you happy. So that would be an extra H. So H,A,P,H from this one.
You are left with: I,T,A,I,E,C,M,D,R,C,L,H,A,P,H which if you unscramble is Michael Pritchard. Watch for another try at the DVD next week (and more riddles!).

In the celebration with the DVD coming out, I decided to do something fun this month. Every Monday I am going to put a few riddles on the site, give you some letters, you rearrange them, be the first person with the correct answer and win yourself a copy of the new DVD when it hits shelves. DO NOT EMAIL FOR HINTS OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
This week I decided to hide the answers within the sponsors.(thats your only hint from me) After you think you have the correct name or phrase email me here with the answer as the subject. If you are correct, I will reply to your email and ask for your information. If no one answers correctly in a set period of time OR the web sites change where I got the information from I will make an update and give a new hint.

3. Some bands never die, just like some motors. The first band on the left has been around for a long time. It's weird thoughbecause the first and last letter or theirname is equal to the first and last letters of the final answer. Plus you can even add the middle letter or theirname.
4. I ALWAYS feel creative, but I don't feel as though I belong to the same category as Green Day. If you take their category, the first and third letter will help you feel like this if you win.
5. Why do people say "Happy Halloween"? I have always wondered this, there is nothing happy about this holiday except for the prep kids acting punk, well actually more funny but anyway but happy is a good word since its first 3 letters will make you happy. You can even use the first letter of the holiday name that makes you feel happy.
