The winners of our wallpaper contest will be posted tomorrow afternoon, we are no longer accepting entries. I've changed the prizes around a little. The top 10 wallpapers will be posted on GDA, the top 5 will get a Green Day Tribute album CD (courtesy CMH Records), and the top two will win a new Green Day shirt (courtesy Carolyn S.) . Not too much news happening in the Green Day world, so I've updated some more media goodies for you. Head over to the extra media page to download Green Day's cover of the Husker Du song, "I Don't Wanna Know If You Are Lonely". I've also updated the video downloads with "Paper Lanterns" played at a show in 1997. We had some problems this morning with our chat room, but it's open again. Congrats to our first winner of the GDA look-alike contest. The winner can be viewed on the look-alike wall of fame. He will also be recieving a GDA sticker. This week's contestants are up now. If you entered, but don't see your picture up, that is because I have been getting many more than expected, and will continue to add 5 new photos each week. Note about posting: If you would like to comment on the look-alike photos, we encourage it. All comments will need to be approved by me first, so if you don't like the picture, explain why. I will not approve anything that says "doesn't look like him" or whatever. And yes we all know Billie and Mike and Tre are hot, and these look-alikes will never compare, but don't comment on that. Lastly, it is a look-alike contest, not a twin contest. People think they look like them, they don't think they are them. Also, in next week's Kerrang! magazine, there is a feature called "The World According to Billie Joe".

First of all, MTV did a short peice on the news about the new DVD, "Bullet in a Bible". You can view the newscast at GreenDay.com. Secondly, an author who is writing a book needs your help. Here's what he needs. Noted rock journalist Marc Spitz (Spin magazine Senior Writer and author of “We Got the Neutron Bomb: The Untold Story of L.A. Punk” and “How Soon Is Never”) is writing a book on Green Day and needs your help. He’s looking for fans who have been onstage with Green Day (especially at Woodstock ‘94), fans involved with the mud fight at Woodstock ’94, fans who witnessed the now infamous Tower Records instore of 1997, fans who were brought up onstage to jam on “Knowledge” and any other fan who has a colorful Green Day experience to share. We want to interview you for the book. Yes, that means, your name (and possible photo if you have a good one with the band) will be in the first, definitive biography on Green Day.  Metal Hammer Magazine has released a collectors edition which is all about Green Day. So make sure to check it out.Here is an article about the American Music Awards. Green Day is leading the nominations along with Kelly Clarkson, 50 Cent and Mariah Carey. For those of you who are open to something different, here is a cover of Boulevard of Broken Dreams by musician Mark Mallman. Mark has a great new style to the song, and it is fun to listen to. Mark also opened for Green Day back in 1991. Also, check out this article about Mike. He says "It makes me extremely proud to make punk rock the biggest music in the world right now".

I have put up a search page for you guys to search GDA. There's also the button on the right side of GDA that you can use to take you to the search page, no matter where you are on the site. If you have Fuse, look out for a few Green Day shows coming up. They will be showing Green Day's performance at Irving Plaza tomorrow and Sunday at noon, both days followed by The Making of "Wake Me Up." The show scheduled for Nov. 8th in Paris has been cancelled. The secret show announced for LA a few days ago will take place Tuesday October 11th, ticket sales won't start till October 10th (limit 2 per person). Idiot Club members have a shot to win some tickets to the show. Check out this comic about Lookout!. I have updated the video downloads with the "Walking Contradiction" music video. Good news for those of you using Mac's; GDA will, from now on, post all our videos fully Mac (Quicktime) compatible.

Hello again all, currently I am working on a new GDA Media Player for all videos and music. Yesterday I tried to get some people from the chat room to help me however now i need more feedback. I have posted 4 videos on the beta version which you can check out here. Since I want as much feedback as possible, please email me your comments. I want to know how it worked for you, how it didn't, what you liked about it, what you would like to see on it and whatever else you want to comment on. Keep in mind that this is only a test and the final version will look nothing like this. I am simply testing the flash video flow. If you only hear sound but no video, do not comment on that until you download the new Flash Player 8, if it still does not work, then let me know. (A Broadband internet connection is recommended) I have been getting a lot of feedback, some people it works for, others it does not. For those of you that it does not work for, let me know your connection speed, browser, and anything else you feel will help. If you have a slower connection, let it load a while it may just be your connection or our server. Update: Since I have gotten tons of feedback (Thank You), I decided to update it with a little bit more eye candy for you, enjoy kids.

Green Day us up for a mtvU Woodie Award. mtvU awards are user based, so get voting for Green Day here. Green Day is up for 3 Q Awards: Best Live Act, Best Video (BOBD), Best Act in the World Today. The Q Awards take place Monday October 7th. Green Day are also up for 3 American Music Awards: Favorite Band, Favorite Album, and Favourite Artist (Alternative Catagory). The AMA's air November 22nd at 8-11pm EST on ABC. For those of you attending the show in San Fransico on the 24th. Here is an article you are "supposed" to read. Wow, three updates today. I know a lot of people have been e-mailing me asking about the new live Green Day DVD, 'Bullet in a Bible', that will be coming out. A few days ago in St. Paul, Billie played a song he only played once before at the same venue, Minnesota Girl, it was written for Adrienne. We found out the song was actually posted as an audio message on greenday.com quite a while back, so we dug it up, tried to make it a little more clear, and people on our forum helped us get the lyrics. You can go download the copy of this little known song in the new Extra Media section. The lyrics are also posted there. It's the only copy we have and it's not too great, considering it was posted over the phone on greenday.com. A very in-depth article has been posted about Lookout! Records. Green Day's name comes up a quite few times in it, read it here. Also a short review with a few good pics of the Sept. 1st show in NJ was posted by TransformOnline.com. Here's a new contest for you guys. We need you visitors to make and send us Green Day wallpaper to go up in our wallpaper section. Today's video download is "Vote Billie Joe". It's the two ads Green Day put out in 2000 saying to elect Billie as President, Mike as Vice, and Tre plays Billie's wife. Enjoy. Here is some unexpected news. Billboard.com has posted that International Superhits has now climbed to #1 and Dookie has climbed to #19 on the "Top Pop Albums." View here. Just for your information, American Idiot is currently number 8 on the Top 200 List. Tré got chosen as Drummer of the year by Drum Magazine. As Tyke posted below, Green Day will be returning to Australia for two shows in December; One in Sydney and another a few days later in Melbourne. Two anniversary's take place today. Today last year GDA recieved the entire American Idiot album and put it up for everyone to listen to, a week before it's release. And more importantly, four years ago today the terrorist attacks took place in America. Our hearts, prayers, and sympathy still go out to those affected, and to the troops and their families over seas today as a result of these attacks.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to make an update and say thank you to everyone who came up to me and my friend Marie at the Philadelphia concert on Wednesday. It felt great to know that all of our hard work is appreciated here at GDA. I've got a TON of awesome pictures from the concert, four rolls as a matter of a fact, and I've uploaded them all into my Photobucket, so view them here. To the right is one of the pictures that I took. Make sure when you view the photos to click on each album. Also, I'm looking for the guy who played guitar that night to e-mail me. For those of you who went to the show on August 14th and got turned away - the show has been rescheduled for October 17th at Nutter Center at 7pm. The tickets you had before will work on the 17th. Well of course you already know that the show kicked major ass. What you do not know is that Courtney and I touched Billie! Yes, be jealous, very jealous. Anyway, I want to say thank you to the people who recognized us tonight and said hello. I also want to welcome all the new people that may wonder on the site since we gave out plenty of GDA stickers. We will have plenty of pics to look at from the show in the next few days, so stay tuned kids. On a side note, I tried so hard to go up and play guitar. However, since I was not picked I was kind of happy since Billie did not give the guitar to the guy who played guitar. He gave it to the girl who played bass, and since I think he will come to the site in the near future I just want to say.. Sucks to be you!

Hey GDA stalkers. Lets all congratulate Tiffany, the Fan of the Week this week.
I have a little more information on the benefit show. MTV, VH1, and CMT are all planning to broadcast this show across all the channels on Saturday 10th from 8pm-11pm ET. It will be a combination of live as well as previously taped performances. I also have an article here that I hope you all enjoy reading. Congratulations to Lynlee Arbuckle and Sarah Garcia on winning the GDA contests for stickers. Lynlee won the banner contest and Sarah won for most votes for the VMA's. Thanks to everyone who submitted entries for both contests. We chose 10 finalists and those top 10 banners are now in rotation.

Hey everyone. Thanks for everyone for coming up to us at the New Jersey show on Thursday. It was a blast. Hey all you GDA nerds. Alright - well let me start with the obvious. The show last night was awesome, and thanks to everyone that stopped by and said hi. Sorry to those of you who came to us after we ran out of stickers. Ok, now on to some news! For those of you who don't know by now, Jesus of Suburbia will be releasing a video. The video will be the whole song but is going to be very different from the other styles of videos. "It's definitely going to shift gears a lot,' bassist Mike Dirnt said of nine-minute 'Jesus of Suburbia' video." Read more about it here. Green Day will be playing a benefit concert on September 10th for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina has killed thousands and submerged nearly 80% of New Orleans. Billie Joe dedicated 'Wake me up When September Ends' to the victims from this hurricane. If you would like to donate, please donate here. More information will be posted as we recieve it. Green Day is now scheduled to play at the NFL Kickoff on Thursday, September 8th at 8pm ET. Read more here.
