Why, hello you sexy green underlings. Lots of you have been emailing about our sticker giveaways for both the VMA contest and Banner contest. We will post the winners this coming Sunday. Those of you that watched the VMA's saw that commercial for Yahoo! with animated Green Day playing "Holiday". We thought it'd be fun for everyone else to check it out. So view it here. There is a Green Day iPod Case for sale from iPod Garage. The guy from mac that emailed us about that case said there is no talk about a S.E. Green Day iPod. Sorry. I'm flying out tomorrow to PA to meet up with Courtney and her strange friends. Courtney, Tyke, Matt, Keith, and myself will all be at the Green Day concert at Giants Stadium this Thursday (9/1) in NJ. If you see us come up and talk to us, we'll give you guys a few GDA stickers or something. We wont beat you up, well Courtney might, but I'm nice. Hey Green Day whores, we are still having problems with our server to get the video out to all of you. So for now, we've uploaded the performance here. Also we've collaborated with Green Day Videos.com to bring you the Acceptance Speeches from last night. So head over there to download those. GreenDay.com has posted more info about the upcoming Idiot Club. They also posted a behind the scenes video, check it out here. I've updated the GDA Team page with many more of our team members that help keep GDA, the forum, and the chat running. You notice the new banner up at top? It was made by "check" from the chat. Sorry, I have been gone for several days because I have moved into school and have had no available internet access. I have updated this weeks fan of the week. So congrats to Tom - see him here. We are currently working on setting up the Concert Reviews like the Fan art submissions. So I will be adding a bunch of reviews up before that happens. Finally, VMA Sunday has arrived! Do not forget to watch the VMA's tonight on MTV. The preshow starts at 6 P.M. EST, and the actual show begins at 8 P.M. EST. In case you forgot, Green Day is nominated for 8 awards (more than anyone!) and they will also be performing at the show. I already have some pictures added to the vault, so click here to view. Remember, if you see a hand when you put your mouse over the picture, if you click on it, the picture will come up bigger. And thank you to everyone at the GDA Forum for posting pictures. The live Green Day DVD (recorded at the Milton Keynes) will be released on November 15. The DVD is currently untitled.

Good day to you all. Green Day's new official fan club, "Idiot's Club", will officially launch September 5th. However, if you are already part of the "All Ages Club" it will open a week early for you. It costs $20 (US Dollars) per year to join the club, but it has a decent amount of 'goodies' to give out. More Info. Below are some articles for you to read, the first about the Kerrang! Awards, and a couple others about the upcoming MTV awards.
Great day for Green Day: Read More We are looking for some new GDA banners. If you are good at Photoshop or something alike send in a banner or two. We will choose a couple of them to go up on top of the main site. Dimesnions are 800(width) x 150 (height). There is no specific layout for the banner, just make sure it says "Green Day Authority" and has our URL. We'll send out some GDA stickers to the designer of the banners we choose. Email them to us. Some of you may have noticed the small orange "XML" icon. To learn what it's for, click it. Also we've made a couple new affliations, you'll find their banners at the bottom of the site. Now we have a favor to ask. We are looking for one extra Pit ticket to the Giants Stadium show next Thursday (Sept. 1st). Hello Green Day fans. Billie Joe was on a segment last night on ABC News titled "Voice of Anti-War Movement Grows louder." Here's an excerpt: "People are starting to see that it's not what they were led to believe," said Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. "So I think now in the popular culture, people are starting to get the guts to come out and declare that they oppose this war." You can read the entire article on ABC News.com. Over 500,000 votes were submitted yesterday for the MTV VMA's for Green Day, as well as countless others that people didn't report to GDA. Thats amazing guys, good job. According to MTV, Green Day is currently winning the Viewer's Choice VMA with over 40% of the votes. The VMA's will air in 4 days, August 28th, at 8PM EST. GDA has made a new affiliation with EBTM.com. So you will see their banner at the bottom of GDA now. They carry countless merchandise for many bands including Green Day. On a side note, Mike Dirnt has recorded the bass for a new EP, "The Smoking Gun EP", by Sabrina Stewart. She's a singer/songwriter from San Francisco.

There is a site out there trying to submit 20,000 votes a day or something for an artist opposing Green Day. We all know Green Day deserves any award more than anyone else, so get voting even if you dont like MTV. Don't do it for MTV, do it so that at the VMA's we can show them who has better, more dedicated fans. You guys can win a trip to LA to see Green Day play. Anyways, I decided to come back with something you all wanted, video downloads. I've put up live performances of "She", "409 in your Coffeemaker", "Waiting", and "The Kids Are Alright" (The Who Cover). There's a new poll up for you guys. The Green Day show that was cancelled in Nashville has been re-scheduled for Sunday October 16 at 7PM. (thanks to Chris for sending that in). Lots of you have been asking about Billie Joe's health, just so you guys know he's been back to normal at the past couple shows. You guys can read this review from the recent Texas show. To catch up on some much needed Green Day news; Green Day UK has posted that the Milton Keynes Live DVD will be put out November 15th according to Warner Bro's.
Jesus Of Suburbia has been marked to be the next music video, In this article from "manchester online", two of Green Day's shows are rated as 2 of the top shows ever played in the UK. The show in 1991 where the guys re-enacted the Birth of Jesus, and the Milton Keynes show from earlier this year. Green Day has won "Choice Music Rock Track" with "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" for the Teen Choice Awards which air tomorrow at 8pm EST on FOX. You can still vote for Green Day for the MTV VMA's here or in turbo vote. Also, be sure to vote for Green Day again for the AOL Battle of Bands, they are losing to Mariah. "Wake Me Up When September Ends" has gone to number 3 on TRL. Keep up the voting to put it back at number one. Here's an article from MTV (thanks to Brittany for sending it in) talking about how some bands were supposed to fail, Green Day being one of them: "Green Day have been slapped with a lot of labels over the years, but "important" wasn't usually one of them." Hey guys and girls, more bad news today. Tonight's show in Nashville, TN was also cancelled because Billie isn't allowed to sing, doctor's orders. However, last nights show in Ohio has been rescheduled to September 13. The Nutter Center website says "All tickets for the August 14th show will be honored on September 13," so save your tickets. We all wish Billie the best in his quick recovery. I've put the letterbombs back up with a couple changes (just the layout a bit). This will be the last chance for them, please don't abuse them guys. If, once again, they are abused to holy hell, I will take them down permanently. There will be some people from now on helping me keep an eye on them. If you get reported for abusing them, you will be banned. They are a great feature when used properly, thats all we ask from you guys, use them properly. I've also fixed the international concert reviews.

We just got word in that tonights show in Ohio was cancelled. Here's the news from Reprise Records... "It was just announced that Green Day had to regretfully postpone their performance scheduled for August 14th at the E.J. Nutter Center due to illness of a band member. Ticket holders for the August 14th concert are asked to hold on to their tickets as both band and promoter are working to reschedule the postponed concert. The new date will be announced shortly." If you were going save your ticket, when we hear about a new date for that venue, we'll be sure to let you know. All we've heard is that it was announced on the radio Billie's voice was fucked up or something. The spokeswoman for the arena said that Billie Joe was NOT taken to the hospital. This news comes from Dayton Daily News.

Usually people say Green Day is one of the best bands to see live, however I stumbled across this article from the "Chicago Sun-Times" titled: "Green Day's starts well, but loses steam quickly". Here's an excerpt from the article: "Green Day's performance Wednesday at a sold-out Allstate Arena, the first show of a victory-lap summer tour through the American arenas, was more like riding on a fancy but defective bus stuck in city traffic and breaking down at every other corner."

Green Day will be performing for the NFL kick off on 9/8/05 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. Kick off will be televised on ABC. Check local listings for broadcast time in your area. Green Day Makes a Video (for Wake Me Up When September Ends) will air on MTV2 8/9 at 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM, 8/10 at 10:30 AM and 8/15 at 7:30 AM. Just a little warning, I've seen it, and it's pretty boring. Check out 11 Things You Should Know About Green Day @ AOL. You can also watch the video for Wake Me Up When September Ends now. The next leg of the American Idiot tour kicks off in 2 days, hope all of you going have a great fucking time at the shows. Courtney and I will be at the Giants Stadium show Sept 1st together. Vote for Green Day for the AOL Battle of the Bands. At the time I posted this, they are losing to Mariah Carey. We are pretty excited because at the end of this month we are going to start selling GDA t-shirts (click here to see the design) and more GDA stickers (pics coming soon). It looks like Lookout! Records is in a bit of trouble. Green Day recently pulled their catalog from Lookout! this past week. Read the article at MTV here. Also on Lookout!'s website, there is a statement from the president, Chris Appelgren. Vote for Green Day at AOL's Battle of the Bands. They are currently up against U2....and winning. Well the GDA contest is over for the Alex Hannaford books, and I do have 3 winners but I'm waiting for them to get back to me so I can announce their names here. There have been commercials coming from MTV and MTV2 featuring Green Day. Nothing big, just a few seconds of some live video promoting mtv.com and mtv2.com. Also there is a new Verizon commercial out where the 'Holiday' ring tone is featured. You are correct, I just wasted ten to twenty seconds of your life with 2 ads you'll probably never see. Lookout! has posted up an article on their website about the recent incident with Green Day pulling their albums from lookout. Which brings up the next poll. I'm leaving to Denver for the rest of the week, so updates around GDA may be slow, as Courtney is very busy with her 'real job'. Have a good safe week Green Day fans.

Thank you all for waiting up for us. A couple fuck ups while moving servers, but we'd like to thank the people at Register.com and Ubiquity Hosting for taking time and working hard to get us back up. Now that GDA is running on it's state of the art server, we should have no more downtime, slow transfers, none of that. Now onto the Green Day news. We finally have a release date for the Wake Me Up video premier here in the U.S. The video will premier on MTV2 next week, August 9th it will be airing all day. And on August 10th, the new video will premier on MTV's TRL. PunkNews.org has posted this article saying that Green Day has taken away the rights to 1039 and Kerplunk from Lookout! Records. The reason: Lookout has seriously failed in keeping up their end of the deal in the contract Green Day gave them in order to keep the material. This article says "Green Day isn’t the first band to pull its catalog from Lookout! Avail, Screeching Weasel and Ann Beretta have also parted ways with the Berkeley, Calif. indie imprint in recent years, though no other band went public with allegations of royalty mismanagement." Green Day is going to make a real music video for Jesus Of Suburbia some time later this year, directed by Sam Bayer. In this article Billie says they are thinking of making it into a short film, something that would be the prequel to the American Idiot movie they are planning on making.

For those of you that already bought the older "Pogo Paradise" DVD, don't waste your money on the new "Suburbia Bomb" DVD that just recently got released. It's the same exact DVD, with a new cover. A new video has been put up for download. It's "86" performed live on Letterman from 1995.
