Hey guys. I've updated the giveaway page with more details about the contest. First of all, there will be 3 winners chosen at random from the correct entries. Secondly, the contest will run until August 1. In case you're wondering why I haven't been around as much, it's because I'm moving and I don't really have any time to be online until I have the internet is hooked up at my apartment, and we're entirly moved in. I have about 200 messages sitting in my inbox waiting to be answered, along with over 500 contest entries. Please stop emaling us with the following Questions: I'm starting to go crazy with those emails. I'm getting at least 20 of those a day, it's really starting to drive me nuts. Please stop. And to kill another rumor, no there is no Green Day iPod. Some user posted a pic of one that would be cool to make, but it's not a real one, and no one has ever said anything about making it. So lets drop that there as well. You guys should check out some of the re-runs of shows about Green Day. Most of them are shows that a lot of you guys want to watch. Good day my fellow Green Day whores. Hope you are all doing swell today. I have finally updated the Fan Tattoo's section. There are some pretty kick ass new ones, so check em out. For those of you living in the UK that get Kerrang TV. This weekend is "Green Day Weekend", they are showing Green Day performances, music videos, and some of the "making the video" shows. So tune in if you can. Also, Green Day is up against Simple Plan to get nomiated for MTV's VMA's. All of you get your ass there and vote for Green Day. The new Giveaway is up and ready for you. Good Luck. I have to mention this. I'm really aggravated at some of you using the letterbombs. This will be the last time I mention this before we just get rid of the letterbombs entirely. We are tired of you guys posting on there like it's a forum or chat room, meaning we dont want you posting stuff like "hey check out my site" or "hey I cut my hair". The letterbombs are strictly for commenting on GDA's news for that day, nothing else. It's not a place to look for advice, ask questions about something else, talk about other websites, or talk about rumors. All that stuff is starting to make GDA look bad, and if need be, we'll just take them down entirely. There is no need for so many if you to post 50 times a day, you dont need to reply to what someone else posts. Thats not the point of news comments. We all like the feature, we want for you guys to be able to comment on our news, however, if you continue to abuse this feature, we will not hesitate to remove it. I know that was long, sorry, but I feel that you guys really have to understand. Good news for those of you in Canada. Wake Me Up will premier July 18th on MOD (much on demand)on MuchMusic. Still no word on a US release. Also, Wake Me Up is now in the top 10 singles on Billboard. Circuit City has the new American Idiot VCD (which includes the American album and the Making of the Video on DVD) set to release on August 12th here in the US. If we get more info, we'll let you know. MuchMusic (canada) will be re-airing Egos & Icons - Green Day at 3:00pm on July 24th.

VH1 has a new program called Artist 2 Artist with Jessie Malin. He's interviewing Billie Joe for the first show. 100 Percent: Green Day will be aired July 14th at 6:30 and 9:30pm and July 16th at 6:30pm on Fuse. Here's a review from Green Day's recent performance at the Oxegen Festival in Ireland. Courtney has updated the Photo Vault with some new pics. Andrew Kendall has sent us some of the pics he took of Green Day at T in the Park a few days ago. You guys should check them out. We'll add those to the GDA pic vault when we can. We have a new Fan of the Week, finally. Congrats to Daz from Anglesey, UK. I've udpated the Extra Media with We Are The Champions (live) and Look For Love by Billie Joe when he was 5. Also, I've added a place for you guys to be able to submit news to GDA. Also, for those of you looking for GDA to link to your site, you should re-apply using this form. We'll check out your site, and get back to you to let you know if we can link you. Green Day played Wake Me Up When September Ends this past weeknend in Ireland, as a tribute to those that died in London in last weeks terrorist attacks. Green Day Vs. U2 in the AOL Battle of The Bands .... vote for Green Day here. Now, I would just like to point out that you are all abunch of spoiled brats by us. We haven't updated in 3 days and you guys nearly have a panic attack. I was away in Denver all weekend, and Courtney has been busy working on her new apartment. We can't dedicate our entire lives to GDA, as much as we love it, we ask that you guys not post 500 comments asking for another update, or sending me about 15 emails asking for more news, when we have time, we will work on it. The IFC video premiere was this weekend, unfortunately GDA cannot post it up. Like I said, I was away so I was unable to record it. I'll keep you guys posted on more air dates or available downloads. Multiple rumors are STILL floating around about Wake Me Up being banned America. I dont know how many times we have to post it so you guys will learn, but here, I'll post it one more time. The new video is NOT being banned here in America, and it will debut in time, when Warner is ready to put it out. Let the rumor stop right now.

Today is GDA's 4 year Anniversary. We'd like to thank all of you visitors that have made GDA so popular and worthwhile over the years. Happy Independence Day to America. Green Day is up for the Kerrang Awards. You guys should all register and vote for Green Day in one of the categories. For those of you interested, you can enter to win tickets for you and 9 of your friends to attend the awards in London, more info here. There is a new poll up for you guys, finally. Don't forget, this month is Punk Month, on the IFC (Independant Film Channel). July 9th at 11:30 PM (EST), the IFC will air, "Jesus of Suburbia", a full music video for the song. GDA will have the video available for you guys to download soon after it airs.

First things first, did you miss Green Day's awesome performance on Live 8 today in Berlin? Even if you didn't, you're in for a treat. You can view their performances song by song at AOL Music. Green Day played American Idiot, Holiday, Minority, and We Are the Champions. I will try to have pictures up shortly. I've got some screencaps from VH1's Driven: Green Day. Most of these were provided by jenbly, so thank you to her. You can view them in the Picture Vault, here to be exact. I will try to go through and identify who some of the pictures are of. Look for my blue vinyl (The Lookouts vinyl), and vinyl covers that I lent the show as well.

I posted earlier today about using a program called Grouper to share files with other Green Day fans. (If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, dont worry then), unfortunaty that program is just too small to handle all of you guys. Starting tonight, I'm going to start setting up GDA to run torrents, I will try to have them setup within 2 weeks (I still have lots of other things to do on GDA as well). For those of you that don't know what torrents are, it's a way for a website to have users share files with eachother. I'll explain in more detail after I get it setup. If you have no fucking clue what goings on, then just dont worry about it. I'll still have the simple way for you guys to download the videos from GDA. Torrents will just allow us to share more files with everyone without costing us more money.

There's a pretty big article on Green Day in Flaunt Magazine. They're kind of the cover, but kind of not. I've heard there is a Woodstock cover and then the Green Day cover is inside of that. Don't ask me where to buy the magazine, because I don't know, I purchased my copy on eBay however. I've also uploaded some pictures from the magazine, along with some concert pictures you guys sent in, and some high quality older pictures, into the Picture Vault. As always, click on "Last Uploads" at the top to view the most recent pictures that I added. Do not forget to watch Driven on VH1 tonight at 11:00AM, 10:00PM, and 1:30AM EST. I'd like to congratulate and welcome Hugo Zarate to the GDA Team. He was chosen to be the guitar tabber, out of the 80 some applicants. The Live 8 concert is going on as planned in Berlin, with proper funding. Don't you love last minute things? Anyways, EMI, a Canadian music company, will be putting out DVD's around November of this year with show highlights from all of the Live 8 Concerts coming up. Also, AOL will be streaming all six of the Live 8 shows, for free to everyone. When we find a link for the stream, we'll post it up for you guys. Over 1200 entries were sent in for the GDA Giveaway. We are no longer accepting submissions; I've narrowed down the contest to the top 20. We will have a winner for the contest by this weekend. There are always rumors floating around the internet about Green Day. Like we've always said, if it's not posted here in the GDA news, do not believe what you read, and please don't post these rumors you read on other sites anywhere on GDA (letterbombs, forum, chat, etc.). You would only be helping spread around the word about something un-true. Don't forget tomorrow, Driven will premier on VH1 at 11AM, 10PM, and 1:30AM. Visit the Driven website for more info. The Live 8 director said that the bands playing the Berlin show (including Green Day) might have to pay for the show themselves, because the lack of interest and support from banks to fund the show. Today is the last day for you to enter the GDA Giveaway, if you have already entered, do not re-enter, both your entries will be thrown out. At the bottom of the news page, and on the extra media page, you guys will see the Mercora Music Search banners. They search for online radio stations currently playing Green Day. When you search, you have to install a small file, it's a little media player. It has no virus or spyware, and it's 100% free. You guys always wanted more streaming music, and this is a way for you to get more. They have tons of radio stations, playing lots of music, try it out.

A few extra bands have been added for a few of the upcoming Shows. Anti-Flag has been added for both the Montreal and Toronto shows, Against Me were added for the New York show, and The Transplants were added for the L.A. show October 8th. New Fan of the Week has been put up, congrats to Patrick. Dont forget, next Wednesday June 29th,Driven will premier on VH1 at 11 am and 10pm EST.
MTV and VH1 will air some hours of the Live 8 concert July 2nd. We can hope they will show Green Day.

As we've said before, Green Day will be putting out the DVD of their live shows played this weekend at Milton Keynes. The video will be put out later this year, it'll be an entire documentary following Green Day around from the time they landed in London. Read more info on the upcoming DVD here.

I've added some pictures from the Milton Keynes concert yesterday into the Picture Vault, right here. In the past, I didn't really add pictures that fans took themselves because it was too hard for me to make thumbnails and stuff. Now, I've reconsidered (since its so easy to add the pictures) and I will add pictures that you take if you want me to. I'm only looking for good pictures where you can actually make out its Green Day, ect.. I will post a thank you in the Picture Vault under the photo you send me. If you want to send me pictures, please send them here. Please include your name and what concert/date the picture is from. Highlights, reviews, photos, ect. from the Milton Keynes concerts @ BBC Radio 1. I've written a letter to all of you. It's pretty long, but I would appreciate it if you read it.
There's still one week left for you guys to enter into the GDA contest to win the Green Day book. I looked into it, it turns out the IFC is going to premier a full length music video for Jesus of Suburbia. It doesn't say who directed it or what it's about, only that it'll air on IFC (Independent Film Channel) July 9th at 11:30PM, thats all it says. I dont know if thats eastern or pacific time. Here's exactly what the website says
